Duke of Edinburgh

At Saltash Community School we currently run Bronze and Silver DofE Awards and hope to have a Gold group next year.

In a poll of more than 500 senior managers commissioned by The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, 93% reveal they are more likely to employ a candidate who can demonstrate achievements beyond their curriculum studies, such as a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, with 86% looking more favourably on a candidate who shares evidence of volunteering and other extracurricular activities.

In addition to this, completion of the award at any level is a fantastic way to demonstrate the TEAM values of Saltash Community School.

If you are interested in applying to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh at Saltash email Mr Feldwick for details.

Team Saltash Ski Trip

We are very proud to be one of the longest running school ski trips in the South West, with Mr Feldwick running this trip for 15 years.  We have skied in Switzerland, France, the USA and Austria in resorts such as Kaprun, Saalbach, Zell-am-Zee, Dachstein, Killington, Meringen, Ischgl, Samnaun and St. Anton.

The trip runs every year in the February half term and takes around 40 students for 6 days of action-packed skiing.

The trip is launched in September for the winter 18 months later and is always over-subscribed.  Places are allocated to older years in the first instance on a first come, first served basis.

Any interested parties should email Mr Feldwick for information. Applications for 2024 are full and those for 2025 will open in September 2023.
