Love in a Box

Anyone looking to donate to Love in a Box, the deadline has been extended from 11th November to 21st November!

Packing up the boxes

Amy Hilborn and her team of helpers, Rachel Squires, Abbie Ward and Alice Turner have discovered that Christmas has come early this year!
They have been co-ordinating the collection of Christmas gifts to be set to less fortunate children in various parts of Europe. Students across the school have been donating numerous shoe boxes full of small presents which will be distributed via the "Love in a Box" scheme.

Mustard Seed Relief Mission is an Eastbourne based Christian charity supplying humanitarian aid to refugees, orphans, and displaced persons, mostly to Bosnia, Croatia, Romania and Ukraine, but also in certain establishments in Britain. The work began in 1991 at the beginning of the balkan war, and the charity has maintaned a continuous flow of aid to the refugees in Bosnia and Croatia since that time.

In addition to routine humanitarian aid, each Christmas since 1992 the charity has operated the "Love-in-a-Box" appeal. In which people throughout the country are invited to pack shoeboxes with Christmas gifts for children. These are then loaded and transported by Mustard Seed to areas of need, and distributed by personnel. In 2004, just over 60,000 shoeboxes were handed out in this way, in schools, churches, refugess camps, orphanages and hospitals in Croatia, Bosniam Ukraine and Romainia.

You can find more about this admirable mission on the Mustard Seed Relief Missions web site at MSRM.org.uk.
