The Application Process


The decision to join the Sixth Form is an important one which may take you some time to make. Consequently, there are several opportunities to find out more about the Sixth Form which are outlined below:

November 2008
Distribution of brochures and application forms.

November 6th 2008
Sixth Form Information Evening at 6.00 p.m. at saltash.net community school.

December 12th 2008
Deadline for Applications.
An application form is included with this brochure. Later applications may be
made but it is advantageous to meet the deadline, because interviews are
arranged on receipt of an application form and subject groups are formed soon
after the interview period.

Early in 2009
Interviews will be held to give you further guidance. These may also be arranged
for later applicants.

24th, 25th and 26th June 2009
Sixth Form Induction Programme:
You should be in the Day Room at 9.00 a.m. on Wednesday 25th June 2008.

August 27th 2009
GCSE results arrive; members of staff will be in school to help sort out problems.

September 2009
Courses start, with individual meetings with tutors to receive more help and
guidance.

Before applying, ensure that you discuss your plans with your parents, tutor and subject teachers. All members of staff will be pleased to advise you; in particular, Mr Scantlebury and Miss Roberts are available to help during most breaks and lunch times in the Sixth Form Office. Students from other schools should not hesitate to make contact for advice.
